My New Favourite Lip Tint?

In the last five years or so lip tints have become a staple in any cosmetic brand’s collection. Gone are the days where you would have to dap your lipstick just for a flush of colour as a coloured lip balm usually just did nothing but moisturise your lips.
Anyone into Asian makeup trends will know that lip tints are usually the key to the gradient lip look. This hit trend started off in South Korea and has now become a iconic look for Asian females. Why? Because it just looks so pretty and effortless. Sometimes we just don’t want to wear a full lip of colour.

What’s Inside: MEMEBox’s LUCKYBox #1

My second box from MEMEBox has arrived and its the re-stocked version of the LUCKYBox #1. In this particular box there were eight products, which means it was a mix of full sized and sample sized products all for the awesome price of $23.00!!! Thats right $23 USD! So its roughly £13/£14 pounds BARGAIN!!!! Of course that price is excluding shipping like all the other beautybox brands, but then again you don’t get as many products and the even the sample sized products are a pretty good size!

Just over a month ago I discovered a new beauty box called MEMEBox, what makes it different is that its a beauty boxed with just Korean products. I have previously subscribed to Glossybox andBirch boxin the UK, and have thoroughly enjoyed getting them on a monthly basis but towards the end of 2013 I just decided I wasn’t using the products enough to justify getting them on a monthly basis.

Mini Haul From South Korea

A friend of mine recently went back to South Korea and she asked if there was anything I wanted her to bring back for me….. my eyes glistened, they sparkled as if someone had let me loose in a candy store. To be honest usually when someone ask me whether I want anything brought back from Asia, my answer to it usually is ‘nuh there’s nothing I really want or need’ but this time there were a few things I actually wanted so naturally I said ‘YES PLEASSSSSSSE’.

It was only a few thing…. I’m not greedy XD.

Cosmetics: Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury is a British make-up artist who has worked with top magazines, models, fashion shows and campaigns…… and thats all that I know about her XD.

I’ll be very very honest I only knew of her while watching a video on youtube (gossmakeupartist) and I was intrigued by what he said about the Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliners….that it was budge (smugde) proof. I have this thing where my eyelids are slightly oily and pencil liners tend to flake off (eye shadow is fine tends to be just liners). Also (I’m asumming most people is the same) lining my water line is just a NO GO because it lasts for about 5seconds and thats it!!

The Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics line launched in Selfridges on Monday 2nd of September so I decided to check out the line on the Friday of that week (only because I had to head in to central to get some stuff anyway). The CT counter was right next to the Laura Mercier counter (it almost looked as if it was an extension of the LM counter). I was really surprised at how small the counter was… I’m pretty sure the Laura Mercier counter was made smaller for it…. then again Selfridges doesn’t have a lot of space… (you know what they need to do, knock that walk where it goes to that new beauty section and make it into a massive area) and yet they are still adding in new brands and counters.

So here is what I got

Both Rock ‘N’ Kohl liquid eyeliners (Bedroom Black and Barbarella Brown) and a K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink.

With the Rock ‘N’ Kohl liners you do have to let it set as it is a liquid liner but in a pencil form, but once it sets….. it was pretty much smudge proof so it’ll take a oil based remove to remove it without the fuss of rubbing (which we all know is not good for the eye). The lipstick is very creamy… I like! It has a nice texture to it but lets see if it breaks me out (I really should have tried it on before buying it right… but oh well). Oh oh the only thing I don’t like about the lipsticks is that it has Vanillin which is why it smells of vanilla, which I’d say about 70% of cosmetic brands use this for that purpose. To be honest I don’t know why they use it, yes its to make it smell nice… but I hate it, now thinking about it maybe its Vanillin that gives me breakouts in some lippies (most MAC ones do), lets hope for my wallet that, that isn’t the case.

I may very well go back for another lippie and a blush…..

NEWS: Origins’ Earth Month – Trade-In Day

Origins the beauty and skincare brand is known for their use of Natural ingredients in their products and their GREEN commitment (helping the environment through the use of ethical, Earth and Animal friendly packaging, practices and policies).

Its that time again for Origins’ Earth Month, from 18th April to 24th April every skincare product bought from Origins, they will plant a Tree for Free.

In 2009 Origins started their Return to Origins recycling program, this was a first of its kind program in which you can bring any empty skincare and beauty containers, pots, jars and etc to ANY Origins counter, and it will be sent to a central location to be recycled or to be used for energy recovery.  Why? Well most cosmetic and beauty packaging is made from hard to recycle materials, not that it cannot be recycled  but that it is more difficult to, and with this program it just makes it easier than just throwing your empty containers away.

In an industry first, Origins will accept packaging from any cosmetic company regardless of the manufacturer. We believe that the more we collect from consumers, the more we can keep cosmetic packaging out of landfills. And we hope this program will encourage other companies into following our example.

Credit: Origins website

The above quote from their website just sums up the program and whats makes it better is that they will accept any Brand!!

As a Bonus, Origins will also be treating everyone who takes part in the program to a complimentary full size moisturiser, either the ‘Starting Over age-erasing moisturiser’ or ‘A Perfect World SPF25 age-defense moisturiser’ (both worth over £30)

I must stress that this is a good cause program and not an opportunity to trade in some cheap arse cream you bought in the £1 shop, emptied and exchanged for a Origins product!!!!

So when does this take place? Saturday 21st April …… Where?? Any Origins counter.

GlossyBox: February

Its now my third GlossyBox and my final one as well (remember in my first GlossyBox post I wrote about signing up for a three month subscription), after this box I will tally it up compare and decide weather or not I will sign up for a proper subscription.

So here it is:

The box is a nice pale pink colour…. reminds me of the colour of the September box.

My information card.

The contents!

Products I got this month:

  • DUWOP – Venom Gloss: Combining subtle tinted lip gloss with DuWop’s Lip Venom to create Venom Gloss
  • DR BRONNER – Lavender Hand Sanitiser: A lavender scented hand sanitiser in a handy spray size perfect to keep in your handbag.
  • PAUL MITCHELLSuper Skinny Relaxing Balm: Intense hydrating treatment for your hair
  • BM BEAUTY – Pure Mineral Eyeshadow: Award winning pure mineral eyeshadow. Cruelty free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
  • COMO SHAMBHALA – Invigorate Shower Gel: A revitalising blend of essential oils that puts you in a perfectly uplifted mood.
Ok so remember what I said in my last month’s GlossyBox?? How I wasn’t’ that impressed with that month’s box… well this months one I was still a little disappointed. Out of the five products I’ll probably only use two of them (the Paul Mitchell Relaxing Balm and the Dr.Bronner hand sanitiser), if the mineral eyeshadow was a different colour then yes I would have loved it.
I’ve tried the Como shower gel before and I didn’t really like it, it smells like medicine as well….
So after my third GlossyBox will I be subscribing?? I’m still not sure yet as I’ve started a Boudoir Prive (who has joined with French beauty box JolieBox and is now known by that name)  subscription so I’ll be using that to compare…. For all I know I may not even get an on-going subscription in the end.

Gmarket Haul: Etude House

So recently I decided to do a Gmarket haul, only because its the cheapest place for me to gorge on Etude House products!

Here is the box, its a little (ok quite) battered!

As you can see my package did get stopped at customs…. ARRGGGG I’m not so fussed about the VAT charge its the bloody parcel force charge thats a BITCH!! They charge that MUCH just because they pay for you first!!

Upon opening it….. All my goodies!!!!

It looks a lot but I can assure you once I start unpacking them… its not so much… not a lot at all…

My Etude House haul:

See how there really isn’t much at all!!!!

It was like my freebies were just as much!!! How can you tell something was a freebie on Gmarket if you can’t read Korean? Well if everything matches up with your order and you have extra stuff!!! LOL On Gmarket sometimes there is an option to choose your freebie… but of course I can’t read Korean so I’m just guessing. With Etude House a lot of the times they give you freebies but some of their products also advertises with a Gift.

My freebies:

Quite a bit right???? That mini travel set Etude House gave me was the set I debated getting instead of the one I actually so WOOOHOOO for that!!
